Agreed again Jon…I wish they had made at least 1 WR2 move…and we really need a veteran guard too I think. I know a tackle wont happen but a guard would be nice. Hopefully what they have at tackle works. We shall see. Jon you were around for 2007…I know they lost but fun team to watch…never was so high after Hesters opening return…only to have Daniel Manning really blow a coverage to change the game. My point is its ok to point to that team for you….🤣🤣🤣😁😁
They need to be as good in the drafts as the Packers are. They always find diamonds.

I don't disagree with much of what you said. But I question how you can predict what the WR room will be? So many are saying that their WR's are terrible & at the bottom of the league, but I don't understand why people are saying that. We don't know what this group is going to do or how well they won't do. JAT

1985 bears my god what a magical season. Endless fun on and off the field every single moment it seemed! It was unreal. Something like that will never be experienced again. The dominance on the field, the characters. The craziness off the field, they were on tv and radio 24/7 and then the songs and videos came out and all the ads, etc.

SHOULD have been a dynasty. Everything since then has been such a disappointment, nothing but embarrassment since in decade after decade!

Everyone keeps talking about the players, especially Fields; but the focus this year should be just as focused on the coaching staff. This year will reveal the quality of this staff. Meaning how much can they get out of the players this year, knowing that this is not the most talented group. Great coaches always make their players better by using the right schemes and play calling at the right time. Let’s see what the Bears organization has in its coaching staff, which is just as important as the players they’re coaching. You can have the greatest players in the world, but if you don’t know how to use them you simply have Matt Nagy and crew 2.0; wrong scheme with the wrong play calls @ the wrong time. Let’s see how well this staff does putting these players in the right position to make plays and win games, leaving the execution of said plays up to the players, so that each player can be properly evaluated; that’s what this year should be all about.

The Bears could win maybe six games, but could just as easily only win two or three. It's hard to predict. If we get both offensive tackles to somehow play great, that could change everything. I would not predict that though.

I’m far less concerned about the skill position players slowing Field’s development. I am terrified of what this O-Line is going to be because as physically and mentally tough as Fields is, too many games with defenders in the backfield before he even finishes his drop could break him by the end of the season.

I've warmed up to Flus and Poles approach. Most people that I listen to and read are very pessimistic about the Bears and I'm really not. Now keep in mind my expectations are not what they typically are and IMO, the success or lack there of is going to be directly proportional to Fields' improvement. I am not all that worried about the WR room…if Fields is good, our WR group will shine. The D line…well that, to me, is the biggest chink in our armor This, in many ways, is one of the more anticipated seasons for me, but for different reasons. Nearly all coaches and coordinators talk about their systems working in tandem with personnel and then they do the opposite. I'm thinking we will actually see it this time around…it's all about Fields and I'm crossing my fingers he doesn't get hurt as that would be devastating at many levels…think Grossman.

If you buy an old car out of barn or something, you don't just go out and buy 1 new tire and a couple side view mirrors and think it's ready to be put in a car show. Lol You have to get rid of the rust and possibly overhaul things under the hood and add a few cosmetic touch-ups and then you're ready to compete! Give them a year or two to judge what they have been trying to do and that's just to be competitive. I just want to see progress!

For me(and this is my opinion) the only error poles has made are two being dishonesty about coaching pick (it would have been fine for him to admit that coach was hired at same time as him) and caring anything at all about what any of us fans thought ( he drafted great till the third round then lost his mind!) After the two great DB's he should have focused on the trenches (O-linemen, and D-linemen) had he done so we would have been way further ahead in the rebuild. Jones Jr. would have been available in the 5th, and if you didn't think so trade up to the fourth.( not an expensive proposal) he took him with more valued O-linemen available. I would have been fine if they drafted no WR's at all, and only drafted foundational players trench men and or linebackers. Don't have any issues with the O-linemen we drafted other than I don't feel that any of them are long term fixes. This is bad because we finally have what looks to be a franchise QB1.

I was not just that team, it was a decade of dominance without a QB. We lost the McMahon of 1985 in the Charles Martin deliberate shoulder destruction slam to the turf 3 seconds after the play was over.

The OLine is by far more concerning than the skill positions. If bad as many suggest that will be the only thing that hurts Da Bears and Justin's progress. Bet on it.

Brady never had big name receivers outside of Branch,Moss ,Welker and Edelman with New England before going to Tampa Bay. A double team on any of the bears receivers opens up another receiver down field. We’ll see how it all unfolds

After Pace wrecked the Bears with lousey draft picks, and giving up how many first round picks for players that weren't productive we are at a crossroad. We had very little cap space and no first round pick. We had inflated contracts for old ass players that just didn't perform for what they were paid. The bleeding has to stop! Poles IMO is doing this right. Get rid of over paid players who didn't perform. Ok they were fan favorites but what have they done last year. A Rob checked out before the season started. Hicks was out how many games. Same for Mack and Daniels. Goldman's head hasn't been in the game all year. This team was a dumpster fire and needed someone (Poles) to put it out. Give the man some breathing room, some cap space and a few first round picks. At least give the team a few games to play before we bring out the knives. Give Poles the chance to go shopping for the right ingredients before we say his cake sucks. He has done what he could with the hand he was dealt and sometimes you have to throw out spoiled ingredients to start over.
