    I have an unpopular opinion
Ben played one more year solely for payback against the Browns. Ben could not retire on that embarrassing playoff loss to the Browns the year prior.

Couldn’t mention the rape incident because how can he “regret” something he claims never happened. Something he says was untrue.

1st I'm not a Fan of Eddie Munster Up Here. He is worst than a Naggin Ex Wife who Constantly Thinks He knows Best for All and to Hell who doesn't agree with his Jan Brady Drama Lined Marcia Marcia Marcia Points of his stories. Fact is Ben Probably could have played but Truth Is Overstayed his welcoming. Ben is in NO WAY on Today's Athletic Levels or Today's Game Level. He went Out the Way Troy Wished The Way Aaron Rodgers Fought For. The Way Tom Brady Dreamed of but couldn't so he had to sabotage Ben's Year with his Another Deflate Gate Retirement Thunder stealing Proposals But Still Not with the Patriots Anymore Alice Cries. Thank You Ben for the Amazing Year's and You WERE Truly Amazing at what you did but it's 2022 and the game is much faster than you can run now. Sound More Graceful and Thankful in your Blessings rather than Wished there was more to it.

I have PTSD from the Mason/Duck 2019 campaign. The 2020/21 ghost of Ben was still leaps and bounds better than the alternative.

Mike Florio you have very well respected content with substance. Now; this is like the Kardarshians which I have never watched in my life. Why create a sense of false Drama. Out of Respect for Big Ben's Historic accomplishments for the Steelers they gave him one last shot. Which was well deserved based on his contributions to the Organization. Leave it at that!

I have said this for years that The Front Office has coddled Roethlisberger. Being a family organization, they have counted the Quarterbacks from Bradshaw to Roethlisberger, therefore any decision concerning their franchise Quarterback was personal.
If any fan didn't realize The Front Office coddled Roethlisberger, it became evident during an interview with General Manager Kevin Colbert, where he said the "Offense" were Roethlisberger's children. That statement should have alerted the casual fan that The Front Office undermines Mike Tomlin their Head Coach; damage control was relegated to him.
Every player who has made significant contributions to his team and its corresponding city desires to end their career with that Franchise, however that's not the reality of the business of Football. The Steelers handcuffed themselves to Roethlisberger with a hefty contract too late in his career, considering several factors: diminished skills and he never took care of his body. The Pittsburgh sports writers agreed Roethlisberger should have been gone at least three years prior to his retirement.
I'm old enough to remember Bobby Layne, Kent Nix, Cliff Stoudt, Mike Kruczk, Mike Tomsaczk, Neil O'Donnell, Terry Hanratty, Bubby Brister, Kordell Stewart, and Tommy Maddox. Neil O'Donnell got them to the Super Bowl, and conversely lost it for them as he threw two crucial interceptions; if I remember correctly at least one of them went for a pick 6. Neil O'Donnell made Dallas Cowboys Defensive Back Larry Brown, Super Bowl MVP, and subsequently a multi millionaire; I hope O'Donnell receives an annual Christmas Card from Larry Brown as a token of his appreciation.
Kordell Stewart got them close, I think even to an AFC Championship game against the 97 Broncos, however Roethlisberger was the person The Front Office decided was "The Man" after his 15 win first season. Keep in mind it hasn't been the Steeler Defense in question; from the Steel Curtain to The Sixty Minute Men/Blitzburgh, to the present Defense they have been solid.
Roethlisberger has left the Quarterback room with rookie Kenny Pickett, journeyman Mitch Trubisky, and backup Mason Rudolph, and a questionable Offensive Coordinator Matt Canada. Perhaps the only redeeming quality is that Canada was Pickett's O. C at Pitt. At the end of last season sports writers and fans were calling for Canada's dismissal, that's how awful his play calling was. The Steelers are entering the unknown for the first time in 19 years, many would say it's about time, while others would say we're past time.

The Steelers were on their way to a game winning drive against Green Bay, when Rasshard Mendennhal fumbled the ball in scoring territory. All but icing the game for the Packers. The Steelers were going through them like a hot knife through butter on that final drive, & I have no doubt they would've won! Who knows, maybe Big Ben would've been MVP?

Big Ben calls the shots, after all he has done for us he should be able to have the final say in when he is done. The man gave us 2 championships and a trip to another! He will always be wanted and welcomed in Pittsburgh
