Stan Kronke the owner of the Rams is not gonna miss the money. His wife is a Walton. You know, the owners of Wal-Mart.
Just for info the Cardinals are the second oldest team in the NFL, second only to the Chicago Bears.
We learn something new every time you make a video. Keep up the good work.
That family is cursed.
bidwell even in he-ll SUCKS. all he wanted was for someone to build him a shiny new stadium. which az. finally did giving him his #kn stadium 40 miles away from phx. in the middle of nowhere. glad st. l told bidwell no to a new stadium. or course kroenke pulled the same s#it only he walked out on a stadium deal #kn st. l over to go back to la. and had blues left for saskatoon like they had planned to before nhl nixed that deal back in '83 st. l would have lost a ream in all four sports. joining browns, hawks, cards/rams.
Actually, the Chicago Cardinals moving to St. Louis isn't the only time a team moved to a city where another team had their name…. It's not even the only time its happened in Missouri.
The Cincinnati Royals became the Kings to avoid confusion when they moved to Kansas City.
Also, the NE Patriots almost moved to STL to become the Stallions.
Let’s not forget the Polo Grounds once houses both the NY baseball and football Giants.
It is currently 105 degrees in STL
People act like Missouri has only had one team at a time maybe the fact is they just don't need two teams the Chiefs have been fine since moving there from Texas
Respectfully this is a bad video. The city and county were at odds which is one of the reasons that neither proposal was accepted. To act like either stadium choice would have been a good decision is silly.
That's because st Louis sucks it's a shit hole I wouldn't blame any spots team for not wanting to be there
Damn st Louis got screwed over hard no wonder they love the cardinals baseball team more than football at the moment the NFL might not be back to that city for a long time to come unless the fans forgive the league
The reasons why they moved are shady, but an even weirder story (IMO) is that of the Cleveland Rams. They moved to Los Angeles the year after winning the NFL championship. (The 1962 Dallas Texans moved to Kansas City after winning the AFL championship, thus being the only other pro football team to move the season after winning a championship.)
Run it back, Rams!
You mentioned attendance between the St. Louis Cardinals teams and baseball drawing the bigger crowd. Here's a fun fact: The Tampa Bay Lightning had attendance comparable to, and even higher than, their current attendance at Amalie when they played at the Thunderdome (more commonly known today as Tropicana Field). A single game NHL attendance record was set in 1993 when they played the Florida Panthers in their home opener at the stadium. This record was broken a few times by other Lightning games until 1996 when a final NHL single game attendance record was set in the 1996 playoffs when they played the New Jersey Devils. That record stood until the 2014 Winter Classic at Michigan Stadium. 2 things to note, this was in a stadium, not an arena meant for hockey AND before Tampa, St. Petersburg, or any other local team for that matter, had a baseball team to play in the stadium. We all know how the attendance is for Rays games, even when they are in the playoffs. And people try to say that hockey doesn't belong in the south. LOL
Tired: Atlanta losing two NHL teams
Wired: St. Louis losing two NFL teams
I didn't hear the entire country bitching about the Rams being stolen from LA even after the league initially voted down the request for them to move and their owner threatened to sue the NFL to move to St. Louis. The Rams were LA's football team for nearly 50 years. They belong in LA and if St. Louis wants a team they need to do what it takes to ACTUALLY get awarded an expansion team instead of screwing it up at the last minute!
Then again the Cardinals moving away was probably a good thing for St. Louis
The rams moved over from Los Angeles in the first place that’s where this ram team came from originally
48 NFL seasons. 8 playoff appearances, 5 times elminated in the first round.
I moved to the UK recently and I’ve been a fan of the Premier League for a while now. One of the things I’ve realized is just how much power NFL (and other American sports) owners have over the communities they have a team in. EPL clubs are viewed as vital parts of their community and owners are forced to listen to their communities. If a major team wanted to pack up and move for money, the fans would riot in the streets (if not worse). Think about how bad it was for the teams that wanted to make the European Super League. NFL owners go into a city and act like they fucking own the place. That’s not to say soccer owners are good by any means, but they are more beholden to the fans. American sports need a more grassroots characteristic to stop bullshit like this (or San Diego, Oakland, Cleveland back in the day, etc).
@fivepoints vids Arizona's warm, dry weather in the winter is awesome.
it was rocky at first, but in the last 15 years, we've made the Super Bowl, the Championship game, and made the playoffs a handful of times. and now AZ is one of the biggest markets for the NFL, our stadium is always sold out, and the excitement is palatible. especially when the croweds are split 50/50.
Really thought the first guy in the ad was Tree 😂😭
Oh no, they lost a team that they stole? Payback's a bitch.
Interesting fact: St Louis is a total shit hole.
The hard truth is St Louis is a poorly run city that can’t support an NFL team with consistent fan attendance or comparable facilities to other NFL teams. Ask any former player what they thought of playing in that thing they called a dome.
Rams moved back to LA because of In-n-out burger
Well having lived in St. Louis I don’t blame anyone for wanting to leave either. I hate that city
I vuess nobody lives there if they have a choice.
The old LA Rams played their final seasons in SoCal at Anaheim Stadium – a baseball stadium, and my dad and I saw the last game they ever played there, it was ugly on several levels. Because one end zone was around home plate and the other in deep centerfield, there were no good seat.
St. Louis screwed St. Louis
St. Louis does not deserve a football team.
Let’s be real here…of course Bidwell moved to Phoenix because of the money. At the end of the day, it’s always about money. A Franchise is a business and if you aren’t making money than what’s the point?
Literally, Stan Kroenke did the same thing. Decided to take his Rams to LA where he knew he would make tons of cash. Looking like he made the right decision with a ring right now.
Plus, let’s be real, St. Louis isn’t the greatest place on earth. They have the highest murder rate per capita of 100K in all of the USA. Can’t blame em for wanting to leave 👋
If anyone had been paying attention to reporting about the Rams lawsuit, you invariably hear about the Cardinals exit. The fact is that both situations had similarities (both were relocated teams with terrible owners) but the situations themselves were completely different. Bidwill wanted to stay but wasn't able to get things done; Stan LIED. A great authority on both situations is Howard Balzer, so please check out the interviews on the subject he did. #KroenkeOut
Petty? Haha nope. It’s called smart. When you’re rich and you own sh!t, live where you want to.
st louis supported the rams win or lose the rams drew great crowds and the ram still moved there should be rules in place to protect the fans from that kind of greedy move the rule should state that any team whose stadium is 3 quarters full or more they shouldn't be allowed to move if their stadium is less then half full then they can move fans shouldn't have to pay the price because owners are greedy
Never understood why the franchise didn't change its name, with the move to Arizona. The Arizona Scorpions, Road Runners, Rattlesnakes (Rattlers), Wranglers, Outlaws, or Prospectors all sound more appropriate than the Cardinals. The Cardinal logo will forever be linked to the iconic St. Louis baseball cardinals in my mind.
Stan Kroenke is one of the reasons that I no longer watch the NFL. The league has proven over and over that they care nothing about their fans.
Bidwill is keeping the seat warm in Hell until Kroenke dies.
Looks like a nice stadium to sit and smoke weed at if you know what I mean
St Louis has also lost the MLB Browns and the NBA Hawks.
How time flies, the Cardinals have been in the Phoenix area longer than they were in St. louis.
There's a joke in here about the irony of using Kurt Warner to roll to a Superbowl loss in the desert too I'm sure
At least we're getting an MLS team next year.
St.Louis Commanders. Make it happen
they lost the football cardinals, but they got to have steroid era mark mcguire fair trade i'd say.
Hey its 4 glorious playoff losses. I've been a fan since 88. Someday we will have a ring
St Louis is so cursed that even the Battlehawks got taken away from them because of the pandemic. Hopefully they come back for XFL 3.0
