He is a big risk he played at a lower level of competition and didn’t play a lot of games but I think in the system that the 49ers have he will be protected well and will succeed

I mean the coaching hasn't helped the young guy or the Oline I mean I know People say a "Great QB" makes the players around him better but I wouldn't call him a bust I mean look at the QB's playing into their 40's so calling a 20 yo a bust isn't easy but with the number 1 over selection and the hype , comes extreme pressure of being magical.. tuff for these young guys that come out and get put in bad situations

Trey has plenty of natural talent & w a full off-season as him preparing as the starter, Shanahan, Deebo, kittle & the defense i think he’s going to ease in great & could end up being even better in the long term after he adjusts to the nfl level. he’s so young & has played so little i wish ppl gave him some grace before writing him off. don’t understand the hate he’s gotten from the mainstream media when he played well in his first two games/got way better in Houston game (i know it’s just the Texans) but compared to the other qbs that played them he performed rlly good. but time will tell 🤷‍♀️ love your videos & these questions you’ve been doing! (also kyle/ John have came out & said they want to trade jimmy but teams haulted talks when he got surgery. kyle is super old school so sitting a rookie wasn’t a surprise. this year is his according to them so don’t think that should be used against trey)

Lawrence had a reasonably average rookie season. When the shortage of speed and targets normally means disaster he managed to get some wow throws and scores.

If you look at, for example, the PFF grades Urban Meyer had everyone playing their worst season of football. I think its an understatement how much of a difference it is going to be when TL doesn't have to answer for Urban every week and has a coaching staff that let's him focus on football.

I think he played decent to above average with no weapons and not being able to focus on just playing.

The problem with Lance is that we know Shanahan and Lynch are good at their jobs, and they aren't sold. I could never come close to them in terms of knowledge of the game and of players. That said, just off of my eyes, Lance has shown a lot of positive, and could make up for gaffs with explosiveness. I think they should have him start and at least see what they have.

I think the small sample size we’ve gotten from him has told us his accuracy is an issue but I wonder how much of that is his ball placement and how much can be put on his injury given that he played with a broken index finger.

I'm not sure what to think. As a 49er fan, I want him out there. He might be a total bust but they traded a lot for him and they're messing around with this whole Jimmy G thing.

I say get him out there and let's see what he's got.

Trey Lance is the definition of a boom or bust player. While I think that these training camp news stories are normally all smoke and mirrors, I think it might be cause for concern. However, if I was a San Francisco fan, I would have trust in the coaches and front office to properly develop him into a booming player. If that doesn't happen, then he could be regarded as the biggest bust in San Francisco history.

No Weapons, Terrible offensive line, and the coach was a fucking idiot. T-Laws actual first season starts this year. His offensive line improved a tiny bit, and he actually has receivers to throw the ball too. And hopefully his coach is actually competent

Trey is worth what the 49's payed. If he turns into half of what Josh Allen is they hit. If he misses they can always trade Samuel and get picks back. Intrigued to see how Trey pans out this season.

I think Trey has hit every reasonable milestone you can expect for such a young rookie, and flashed his amazing potential in the most recent performance we’ve seen vs the Texans. He has a lot to improve on, but 49ers fans have a lot of reason to be encouraged at this point.

Trey Lance is still not as good as Jimmy Garoppolo and may never be better. He also might light it up and be Josh Allen 2.0

About Trey Lance: I believe he would have developed way more and look way more comfortable on the field if he started, and I think him and Deebo/ Kittle could be a very dynamic offense. 49ers need to find a way to either trade Jimmy G or just release him, because having him start is hurting the development of San Fran’s future.

Trey lance is interesting. He can add another element to the Shannahan scheme with Lance’s ability to run the ball. That could be scary for the NFL. For his throwing, I think he needs to drastically improve although we haven’t seen much of it.

We just talked about it with Trevor, a huge indicator of if a QB will be successful is if they go to a good situation. I’d argue there wasn’t a better situation for any of the QBs drafted last year. Brilliant head coach, some of the best weapons out there, and he didn’t HAVE to play. People keep saying it’s so bad he didn’t play last year, which I understand, but I believe Kyle’s plan was always to have him sit. He’s old school in that way and that doesn’t necessarily reflect on Trey. We also recently learned that Trey’s finger injury was much worse than we knew. I wonder how much that impacted his play time and what we did see. I’m optimistic he could be elite, but in the end I don’t think he needs to be. I think he’ll be successful in the league bc he’s athletic and found himself in a good position.
