Niners roster is "win now". They literally can't afford for Lance to bomb out hence they still keep Garoppolo around as rescue plan. If Lance starts W1 and goes 3-5 they will turn to Garoppolo to save their playoff hopes?

Trey has looked fucking sharp in otas. You can tell he's been training with Brady. Jimmy hooked them up after Trey first met brady with Tom house briefly during the covid season.
Trey has Brady's Footwork now. totally different player, even the throwing motion is Brady's. You can see the OTas now. It's effortless.
It's not just putting all the eggs in the rookie basket or not, it's the timing of doing so. The Niners and Rams were neck and neck in terms of having the chance to win it all…and the Niners decided to invest capitals into a future prospect…wasting not only the talent / the team ready to win now but also half the rookie QB contract economics. How was that the logical choice? How have JH and KS leadership get away with it…not even having to explain it. Meanwhile, the Rams did the opposite, pulling in future capitals and combined them with current ones to win now…and won…and are looking to repeat.

Its not easy getting to a superbowl or nfc championship game with a QB ranked in the 15-20 range. thats where i give credit to Kyle shanahan. Im sure he can do it with trey lance with time. Start the train and get it rolling. Lets not forget the shanahan offense isn’t built to pass protect 35-45 passes a game, Its made to run and demolish teams similar to what trey was doin in North Dakota 👀
