First off, I am a Jesse Bates Fan!
That said, if Jesse doesn't play this season because he (his agent) is not satisfied with the contract offered by the Bengals FO, he(his agent) are betting on the film of the last few games (mainly playoffs/SB). If that's the case, it will be considered that Jesse stated that he was Not playing at his full potential during a large portion of the season (pre-playoffs) due to his focus on his contract. That has to be considered as a potential negative as far as 'Team Building,' is concerned. In other words, it kinda sounds like, "Oh, Wow! We made the Playoffs, so I better start showing out, so I can demand more dollars…" (for example). Not a good look in my opinion… ijs
