I never like the idea that formed that Saban is "warning" everybody when says certain things. What I see, and what I don't understand what others don't see, is that Saban knows he has to change or get left behind. That's why he started doing uptempo and gradually went to a spread attack.

What I hate about it is people think Saban is some God that warns people not to do something, only to do it better. No as a LSU fan, if Les Miles wasn't some stubborn jacka**, LSU would have been running a powerful spread offense with top QBs before Burrow. After he was almost canned in 2015, they gave him an ultimatum to improve the offense or he's gone. He doesn't fire Cam Cameron, but says they are looking at different spread offenses (Larry Fedora at UNC, Clemson, etc). The very next year he runs out the same exact offense, and after four games he was fired. LSU finished with the #5 scoring defense. Before they got to TAMU and let them score like crazy, they had only given up 10 TDs in 10 games. TEN! They played Alabama and lost 10-0. Bama was averaging almost 39 points per game. They scored 31 vs Clemson in the championship game they lost. They lost to ranked Florida 16-10. They lost to top 10 Wisconsin 16-14, and lost 18-16 vs top 20 Auburn. ALL HE HAD TO DO, was not be stubborn and switch to a spread offense and LSU is playing Clemson for the national title, not Bama.

See Saban realized that the new wave was high powered offense with enough defense. He realized uptempo was hear to stay as well. Dude went from game managers to gamers at QB. He realized teams with decent talent being offensive juggernauts, so why not do it with the elite of the elite talent? It's something I had been saying for YEARS before. Louisiana bleeds skill players and LSU was not using that to their advantage.

Smart knows he will have to get to this point too. No way will have a front 7 crop like that anymore thanks to NIL.

Saban knows he can’t keep up with kirby and jimbo will pass him this season. Will be hilarious to see saban go out sad.

Unless there are some sort of guidelines put into place (don’t know if this is “legal” as these student athletes are now pros technically?) there is the potential this leads to a two tiered system similar to MLB where reality is in any given year maybe 6 teams can win World Series excluding the odd year where a small market team does everything right and gets some luck etc. I think Saban is partially conferenced about this as are other coaches. That being said if he did not thin one of the boosters might not film his comments, he is terribly naive…but it doubt this. I think he made these comments knowing they’d get out there. Bringing j prime time was not smart as he is well respected probably more so than Jimbo. Also he is worried about TAM and others closing the gap so wants Bama boosters to step up their donations.

Kiper's 1st mock draft is out for next year. Anderson is 1, Young 2, Stroud 3. Is that the pecking order for 247? I know it's a very fluid thing, but who would be some others you'd throw in the mix?
