But….we need QUALITY over QUANTITY
Saluti Anthony… great giants content as always… 👋🏻🇮🇹
I’ve invited all teammates n staff n their families 2 come 2 American style holiday BBQ party today..lol.. less than 200 ppl, they’ve never seen anything like this! there r handful of us grew up n educated n America! it’s all abou 2 bond w each other n families off d field b4 our next season👍🏻🇮🇹
I disagree. We have depth. Incredible depth would mean we have starting caliber backups. I dont feel entirely comfortable with anybody we're sticking at LG and if we have a Tackle injury how confident would you be with any of the backups starting. Wr don't even know who the backup Center is at this point. So we're in much better shape than we were last offseason when we raided a bad Bengals line's cast-offs to start for us. That's true, but that's about it.
To be a lil fair Dave did sign a couple linemen last yr they just retired on us lol
Great depth.. Great depth.. Just sucks that 3/4 of them will probably get injured.. I'm traumatized PTSD boys lol
This line play will look like a real nfl team with solder gone.
We have 1 above average starter (thomas)
1 average starter (glowinski)
3 below average starters
I'm not expecting neal to be good right away ….imo thomas was a better prospect coming out and it took him a full year to get it together
My favorite acquisition this off-season Hass to be the kid that they got out of the international draft program. That dude is humongous! He’s just as big as ever Neil and since he doesn’t have a lot of experience I’m hoping that he can get the tutelage from Andrew Thomas as well as Neil and become A great back up tackle. It may take a while but this whole first year of this new regime is just about setting the foundation anyway so I don’t mind if he takes a year or two to develop as long as he can be a trusted piece if his services needed to come up.
2022 Giants projected offensive line
LT Andrew Thomas
LG Joshua Ezeudu
C Jon Feliciano
RG Mark Glowinski
RT Evan Neal
I'm going to say Ezedzu
please purchase a copy of your Bible today n start praying for our next season opposing teams! bcs they’ll need lots of prayers 4 what’s coming at them!💪🏻🇮🇹
The statement desperately need a starter, in my mind equals opposite of depth. Now I understand it's only in regard to center and with that said looks much better than before.
What’s the go with Matt Peart? Do you see any future value or is he done?
Happy with the line – but not expecting miracles year one – more curious how it goes the year after
Still concerned with Tackle depth.
For years, the Giants had no quantity in their OL.
Now we have quantity over no quantity
That’s a major improvement. It’s a start that’s only taken us TEN YEARS.
Lemieux is the LG this year. He's been taking the snaps with the first team throughout OTA's.or haven't you been paying attention.Bobby Johnson said he loved him coming out.Max Garcia will be the backup center.
Definitely a good start. Remember everyone, the entire line that finished last year are basically gone except for AT. So we have more workable players with possibility of 3 good to very good Olinemen at left and right tackle and right guard. This has been a major overhall in just a couple of months by our GM. In review I think GM Joe is doing a great job! Wonderful presentation Anthony on the improved OL. Don't forget our OL coach Johnson I think will do us well. Great job as always Anothny!
I love the Glowinski signing because if he plays like he did the second half of last season they got a steal. if not, he's at worst an average OG and that's nothing to scoff at in today's NFL and he is a relatively inexpensive OL.
Thanks Ant. Someone finally mentioned Max Garcia as a potential starting LG. Pro Bowl alternate may not be the highest of praises when all the grades shake-out, but he’s gotta be better than Shane Lemieux and a 3rd round rookie. Going back to his days in Denver, Garcia has been very solid. I hope Ezeudu is the ducking MAN, but seriously, I think Garcia at this point is much better than Lemieux. Lemieux sucks, he is well below average, especially coming off injury. He’s been one of the worst IOLs to start his career.
Ok. Listen, boys and girls. Feliciano is an average C. Max Garcia and Mark Glowinski are slightly above average Gs, and at times can be above average, in fact, sometimes quite a bit above average. We know AT is on a trajectory to be a Pro-Bowler, and I would expect that Neal will be getting to that level, especially playing on the Right. Everyone is talking about Lemieux getting starting runs at LG, but let’s all remember that he has been AWFUL thus fAr in his young career. Ezeudu seems like he could make a push to challenge for the starting LG spot…that would be awesome. If he’s better than Garcia, let the man do his thing. Gono is our swing tackle. He is way better than Solder, Peart, or any other tackle (other than AT) that we’ve had in some years. To believe we have at least average OL at every position, plus some depth, plus potential. The unit isn’t complete, but it’s so much closer to making our offense (and team in general) something legitimate.
It will be cool to see who gets cut!!!!….out with the old and in with the new!!!!!❤️❤️❤️❤️
Love this perspective on the OL and Joe Schoen.
Great analysis re all of the options along the OL. Beyond that kudos for running through all of those names at that rate of speed – you deserve credit for that alone. I would be glad to see the NC draft pick emerge at LG starter – that would be good sign re building a young line. Thanks for all of the content – really enjoy it.
Great info, great depth, we are headed in the right direction for sure. Love how you guys continue to provide us with content. Peace
If Joe schoen can do this in his first year can u only imagine what he can do year 3 or 4 OMG 😱!!! The sky isn’t even the limit we can way beyond the sky I’m talking about we take over the universe
Good vid! I too like the cpl overhaul of our OLine. We've all been screaming for it to happen, and for our new FO and coaching staff to (finally) make the overhaul, with avg/above avg players and on a tight budget, is a great thing! Of course they haven't played a snap together in a season game, so we have to wait and see how it all pans out.
My fav upgrade is our new RG, Mark Glowinski. A good/great OG, that (like you said) can play on multi positions. A great player to have! Don't forget Indy's running game was among top of the league and a lot went between tackles (of course with Nelson on the other OG side, that helps a lot).
Hear me out… the rookie Gs from North Carolina are being slowly groomed for “affordable” options for future LT & RT…Ezudu is already getting reps out at LT…. Thomas, I’m afraid, is going to play himself to a HUGE contract…. so I think he’s eventually gone & they will move Neal over to LT …. ezudu will be entrenched at LG by then & getting tons of experience…. the other NC guy is BIGGER a possibility to take over at RT then….. THEN, Neal will probably have same issues as Thomas where he plays SO GOOD that we can’t afford to keep him…. so ezudu slides over to LT with a salary of a guard…. so for next 10 years or so Giants have affordable quality starters at LT & RT…. keep rotating in young Gs with developmental qualities to play Tackles after some experience…. because a top LT salary can CRUSH your salary cap….. but with the philosophy of having guys under long term Guard contracts slide out & play Tackle for cheap is genius…. remember deihl was exactly that… he was a mid rounder who developed & was a cheap solid option at LT eventually…. you don’t need pro bowlers at Tackle, just top ten guys who are consistent
Giants website had an interview with th North Carolina coach. He said he moved Ezeudu around the line specifically to deal with individual D-line players that were giving them a hard time because he was their best offensive lineman. That was why he would change positions all the time.
Depth Really. R they GOOD. The Line Last Year Stunk Everyone on the Line. Team Sport. I Sucks they All Do. Feel Me GIANTS FANS. Go BIG 🔵 BLUE
Here's my only concern. A) I'm still depressed about Nick Gates. and B)I'm not getting excited this year. I'm not getting despondant this year. I'm going to give them 8 games. I don't expect an 6-2 but I really want to see some good play calls, great execution and improvements. IE a better O Line leads to better runs for Saquon and the back up, better runs opens Saquon's use as a receiver, Saquon as a receiving threat opens more gadget plays for Toney and Wan'dale, more gadget plays for Toney and Wan'dale opens the field up for Shep and Golladay, and the field opening up for Shep and Golladay should lead to more big plays downfield(which is one of Jones' strengths) while also opening up running lanes for Jones as well.
On D, we just need Wink to use the guys to their strengths. We have good players. They just need to be put in a position to win. And none of this taking the first 3 games off like last season.
Great analysis as always! I'm hoping the New York Giants versatility on the offensive line solves the problem.
Great job Anthony! I'm very excited about the upcoming season. Looking at film of Daboll's offense it is similar to the way it was back in the days of the Green Bay Packers dominance where a play has the left side getting the push and the right side sweeps to the left and visa versa thus creating a mismatch resulting in big gains. Thomas and Neal are big, strong and athletic tackles who can perform this. You will see most if not all of our lineman play in the game in various positions. We won' t recognize our Giants. Saquon has to be licking his chops.
We will never know what we have until games are played. But this O line situation looks to be promising.
And if it is, it makes that huge piece of dung Dave Gettleclown look even more lost and inept. He proclaimed to fix the O line as "Job #1", and made it the worst in the NFL.
Imagine if Schoen fixes it in one year??? Lmao
Matt Peart had a knee injury late last year not sure where the back injury came from
Schoen has done a lot to improve the Oline, gives me hope.
A serious rebuild of the OL. Thrilled that this has been Shone’s focus. The International guy could be the big story! Hopefully they play mad and dominate
