Mond sucks but whatever
That story just doesn’t surprise me at all. Mike Zimmer is the “old school” coach, which simply doesn’t resonate with todays players. Not saying it’s good or bad, it’s simply the way it is.
He threw 6 TDs and ran for 1 vs LSU led by Burrow – not too shabby!

The last time I had any respect for Zimmer was when Peterson wanted traded and threatened to hold out. Zimmer said " he plays for us or he doesn't play". I lost all respect for Zimmer when the entire CB room went rogue during a game and ignored the gameplan and Zimmer did nothing about it.
Let Kirk play this year, give mond some coaching. Maybe trade Kirk next year, draft a rookie and then let mond and the rookie battle it out…. Or have cousins lead us to a SB win and sign him to an extension! #8000
At the time, myself like most thought our best chance of beating the packers for a playoff birth was to play Mond and hope a possible shaky start might bare fruit later in the game. I believe had this kid gotten those reps the week before leading up to this game our chances of possibly winning were much better then Minion. I believe the Pack viewed this starting lineup as a gift. For This ? Zimmer has to go and take Spielman with him.
The MORE I hear about Zimmer…the more I want to vomit 🤮…..take your punk kid and get the hell out…
When I recall the time that Zimmer got hired as the Vikings head coach, he was passed on by a number of other teams. I guess they saw what the Vikings didn't see. He might be able to get away with that sort of behavior as a defensive coordinator, but not as a head coach. I am glad they moved on from Zimmer.
This type of news really proves that the wilfs made the right decision to move on from both Zimmer and Spielman. I really enjoyed his tenure as a head coach but his way of operating was way too inflexible in this modern NFL.
I've seen the exact same thing (Zimmer's hate for guys he didn't pick) in the corporate world with mergers and acquisitions. Too many managers give the shaft to employees that he/she acquires through merging and treats the ones that he/she hires himself/herself much better. It's very unprofessional behavior whether in football or any other environment. Zimmer is not head coach material on so many levels it's not even funny. He should NEVER, EVER, EVER be offered another head coaching job. Anyone who offers him that position is truly an idiot. So there's your cue Jerry Jones! Hey Jerry Jones, if McCarthy doesn't get your team to a Super Bowl, you oughta bring back Zimmer as your head coach! Do it man, DO IT!
Zimmer was not the Vikings future just cause today’s game ain’t defense wins games lol zimmer was just a basic defensive coach nothing more n he proved his (zimmer) selfish, childish, and and his prejudice ways as a coach but again in today’s game it’s not all about defense so zimmer was and is a ugly selfish coach and I hated hated his coaching style Leslie Frazier coaching style was the same as zimmer bunk and Frazier didn’t have the players that zimmer had and still yet everyone want to give zimmer props bologna but new offensive minded coach will bring excitement n fn balance and ALL the Vikings players will have legitimate shot at having playing time, I’m glad zimmer is in the past, SKOL SKOL SKOL SKOL

Zimmer ruined last year's draft class rookie season. I think he saw the writing on the wall and didn't care about the future of the franchise.
We lost Zimmer when he decided dating a Maxim model was a good idea. He really wasn’t what we thought he was. Glad he is gone.

In my opinion, Zimmer was a defensive coach, who did not change with the times. And did not give Mond and several other players a fair chance.
Zimmer also never gave Keenum any credit and ripped on Kyle Sloter too. So glad Zimmer's gone.
I'm looking forward to seeing mond getting a chance to reach his potential . its clear he never really got an opportunity under zimmer . i also am excited to see cousins get the protection and support under the new regime . kurt can still win our hearts with the right program and kellen can be part of the future success of this franchise .
