I once went to a Panthers game when they played the (at the time) Redskins. We were three rows back from the field. A guy two rows back and maybe 8 seats down from me was jawing at Steve Smith the entire game. And Smitty was jawing right back. I'm pretty sure Smitty had a bad game too. Might have won the contest with the Redskins fan but lost of the field. And Carolina lost that game. I think what players forget is that seats like that are expensive. If you bought a 4-piece and paid to park and bought some food, you're in for like $3k. And if you see some bullshit on the field you rightfully feel some type of way. If a player doesn't like it, ball out. That will shut people up.

Fans have to understand that players are there to entertain you. You dont own the players. Shit talk is fine but when it bleeds over into their family then you probably should get your ass whipped. Tough talk from the stands is cute but if you say some personal hurtful shit that crosses the line, keep that same energy if that player decides to come into the crowd for you. I do agree with Katt that some players and the game is soft now, but the fans are getting worse.

Fans are the client not the employee, as long as a fan understands that family members are just fans too. What you say to players is within the limits. Keep it to what is on the field
