To function, QBs need to develop rhythm and momentum. A rookie, especially, is not going to be able to make good plays in between the ones whre the receivers dropped the ball and the line collapsed. We were told at the start of the season that the line was installing a brand new blocking system that has had spectacular results but it takes half a season for the linemen to master. Zach's chance of having even a decent season was about zero. He did improve the second half, as the line finally gelled under the new system.

His qb coach died, the other coaches were rookies, he had a horrible offensive line, he was blitzed like crazy, his receivers were hurt or couldn't catch. He probably played the best of any of the new qb's near the end of the season. This year with a better supporting cast and a better understanding of the offense he should be a lot better.

I believe in Zack Wilson the jets had a lot of problems last year everything was horrible. We will see how things play out this year with all the new play makers they have. Justin and Lawrence didn’t play good as well they were horrible just like Zack can’t control what team you go to. I can’t wait to see what all these young guys turn out to be. I think Zack Wilson got the most help this off-season. He should improve a lot this year!!

Did you say that about Josh Allen in his first year ? So every rookie QB that doesn't have a Hall of Fame 1st year is a bust for you ? Then Justin Fields is a Bust and so is Trevor Lawrence, right ? Jumping the gun with your opinion. This ain't going to age well when Zach Wilson has a good year next season.
Using your logic, you would have called 90 percent of the QBs in the Hall of Fame, BUST after their first year in the league. Many of them had worst 1st years than Zach Wilson.
It was his rookie year, he rookied like a rookie should…..this is a subject that should be done in year 3 to get a full evaluation, when I was coming up, it took at least 4/5 years for a QB to fully develop. When u see balls behind the receivers, it’s telling that he hasn’t caught up to the speed of the game. You good tho, keep this same energy in year 3.
