1:29 "Was number 169 on the consensus big board…"
The first thing you should always keep in mind is the "Consensus" big board is never accurate.

Decobie Durant was drafted to redshirt this season. This year will be all about watching, learning, and putting on mass so he'll be ready for the '23 season. Oh, and by the way… he runs a 4.38 which gives him a 9.49 RAS for that category.

Kyren Williams is a JAG (Just another guy), he'll be around for a year or 2 but won't be around long-term. The Rams are planning on letting Darryl Henderson walk as a free agent after the season because the team can't afford to pay both Henderson AND Akers and Akers will be up for free agency after the '23 season so he's the RB they'll pay. That means they needed another guy to be ready for that '23 season as Akers backup hence the Williams pick. But the first chance they get to upgrade from him, they will and it shouldn't be too tough upgrading from a guy who runs a 4.62 40.

Rams right guard spot is wide open rn and the RB + safety depth was decimated last year so pretty good moves filling out the roster imo

Another thing to note about Bruss is that he played with the Rams starting LG in college. He already has that chemistry and the line was high on drafting him so that probably was a something they took into account in drafting him.

I think the Rams GM and coach kinda gave up their draft plan when they shat upon Belichicks 1st pick 🤣

Bruss gave up 1 sack since 2019. I don’t know how much stock I would put into his pass blocking grade. He also made the all big ten 3rd team one season and followed it up with 2nd team the following season. He’s also worked out with the rams oline players already during the offseason

Yes, depth is very important to the Rams. They have had season interrupting or ending injuries for several key players over the McVay reign, such as Guerly, Whitworth, Kupp, Rapp, Higbee, Woods, Joseph-Day, etc. The versatility and "man up" strategy has kept the Rams in the hunt year after year despite the setbacks. Don't mess with success.

Williams is gonna shock people. He'll be key in the next few seasons, his wide skill set is gonna improve in the pros and the culture in LA breeds overachievers, guys playing and performing way over their 'expected' ability. Guys like Kupp and Donald that SHOW what hard work produces are good for NEW guys coming in and they have a leadership pool that is really quite impressive, even Andrew Whitworth has committed to helping develop new guys and mentor them. Bruss will be an upgraded version of what he was in college by the time the season starts.

I LOVE the Kyren Williams pick. Probably the best pass pro RB in the draft.

I liked the rams draft This year considering what picks they had. Only thing I always question is why do the Rams love drafting small RBs and CBs. I felt like Sony Michel was a nice piece in our offense this year as he was a big rb we didn’t have but he’s gone now. We already have a Darrel Henderson and he’s a small back. And with the corners as well. I feel like when we play teams with bigger wrs we’re always at an disadvantage in the secondary.

Not sure where you got your info on Bruss, he gave up only one sack in 596 snaps played…that's 3 years of starting in the Big 10 with only one sack! He can pass block well.
