I think that was a great pick. Our defense allowed an average of 200 plus yards passing a game and 33 td allowed .
Had to make this pick and it's exactly what I wanted Poles to do with our first pick. The bears we're dead last in opponent's QB rating last yr. Dead last! Opponent's had a QB rating of 103 .3 against the bears pass defense. Against our secondary. You will be going nowhere in this league of you can't shut down other teams passing attack, you just won't! This kid was the best player still on the board and was projected to go in the first rd. Even though cornerback was a need for the bears , the bears picked this kid because he was the best available player on the board.
WTH is wrong with the bears and their need to build a defense while their offense lacks at almost every position? Then they get a safety with their next pick?
To think Getsy who has never been a head coach at any level or OC is going to have a magic scheme for Fields is ludicrous! We all know Rodgers is the magic in that system. Get some dang players for that side of the ball!
He will certainly start and is an upgrade over Graham….A great fit for the system and they were obviously set on the pick with it coming in within 30 secs or so post being ont the board. I didn't know what to ecepect from this new regime so I can't say that it's a surprise. The LAST pick of the PSU kid was a surprise somewhat and I don't care for the pick over a OL or Wr but oh well…

There was no other route to go than secondary. Pickens is a gamble and the bears can’t afford that. No great lineman on the board. Skyy is too small. If they could just get kadarius toney, we’d be set

I agree with we filled a need that will start day 1. But if we are in a rebuild you have to surround your franchise QB with weapons and protection as priority #1. We had a huge chance 2 come away with 2 WRs or at least 1 receiver and 1 OL. But we addressed the defensive side of the ball first which despite the losses there we retooled our strength first. On the positive side this corner is a solid player who will start day 1.

I think this is ok. But bears should have drafted a WR in the second round pick after this one..so at 39th, this is ok. But still. Come on! Fields needs a reliable WR next to Mooney

Thomas Graham is an excellent option. Showed flashes and deserves a chance. However, lock down corner is a good choice. Thomas Graham should have started last year. It is a shame to see his talent on the bench. Hell of a backup, no matter which one starts!
They had to go best player available. you can't force a position at a pick. This is a great pick and imo CB2 was a bigger need than WR because after johnson we have no CB. Maybe graham or young become good players but this was a great choice at 39. A+ pick.
