Any chance the Patriots select a RB anywhere in this draft? My choice would be Pierre Strong. The only RB the Patriots lack is a home run type runner. The Chiefs seem to collect these guys and the Patriots could use one. Could be had in the 3rd or 4th Rnd.
Honestly would like to trade back to early 2nd late 1st take Travis Jones. Take metchie or Pierce later in the 2nd and Woolen or a LB in the 3rd. Maybe another WR later like Philips or Melton. Toss is a OL somewhere and Voila.
If a blue chip player doesn’t fall they might trade back and draft Travis Jones. 2 visits could mean something
If Davis isn’t there at 21 then trade down a little and get David ojabo or Leo chenal in the first , then with the 2 picks in the second get Tariq woolen or the nose tackle from UConn and still can get John metchie
If they can get Williams and Metchie, they can focus on other positions for the rest of this year and next year
Woolen is a stiff
We aren’t the same team we were the last 20 years and if we use 21 we can’t take a guy that is NOT a day 1 starter. We need guys who we can plug in right away and contribute to helping the team win games and take up minutes in spots we are thin.
Nakobi Dean should be the pick. He's baby Ray Lewis 💪🦾 I don't want a DB we traded for Sean Wade last year from the Ravens He's 6'1 190 they took him in 5rd but who knows what grade Bill had on him. Asante samuels was a 4th rd pick Malcolm Butler and JC Jackson undrafted and BB Had them balling. Just imagine what Bill and Mayo could do with Nakobi and a green dot?
Evan Lazar and Alex Barth were just making a really great point about the offensive line this year. Doubtful they take a guy like penning who will need a ton of coaching up. He has a lot of potential to be a lethal olinemen but who's coaching the o line this year? We don't have scarnecchia anymore. So do we have the coaching to coach up Trevor penning? With Matt Patricia rumored to be the oline coach I very seriously doubt it. A guy thry could take and plug right in without having to coach him up with be zion Johnson. But doubtful they take a guard in the 1st round. Would be such a waste of a premium pick. Your picking guys in the 1st and 2nd round who will help you win immediately. How foes zion Johnson help us beat the bills? He doesn't. Idk doubt it's penning. Have a gut feeling it's defense. Either cb, edge or linebacker. My money's on 1 of those 3 positions.
Also tariq woolen I think ran the fastest 40 time at the combine. Hes a nice cb. He'd be a guy who could cover hill/waddle.

If Metchie's a #2, is he really going to be here 8-10 years? What #2 have they ever kept around? I say fill those defensive and line holes. Using a high pick on WR that isn't a game changer seems like a huge waste.

Fill out the defensive line. Draft Davis then trade up for Bonitto Davis Barmore Bonnito n Judon would push the pocket, get after QBs, and close down running lanes of running backs n QBs. Would be the best in the business and keep Uche n young fast linebackers clean. Then sign a veteran cornerback. Uche blitzing would be money cuz the OLine would be tied up trying 2 contain Davis Barmore Bonnito n Judon
