Good job Phil are thoughts on the draft are similar. I think someone will slide though that wasn't expected. Every year someone gets drafted in the top 20 that was a surprise. My order is Williams, McDuffie and Penning at 21. Don't think they'll be there at 21 though. Possible slight trade ups for Williams, Stingley, Davis or McDuffie. But more likely a trade down.

Phil makes great comment on relative market value for positions. Two points: the reason that the top tier seems less brilliant than prior years and the reason for an unusually homogenous mid class was the Covid effect. Colleges' training schedule and shortened seasons reduced readiness while causing more players to defer entry from last year to this year. Scouting evaluation is very important this year.
U should look at this player maybe in the 7th round a guy named Dallis flowers

Which offense are you drafting for? McDaniels' offense or a Bama/LSU style Spread offense? If a Spread, then position needs are VERY different. A lot of tea leaves are looking like a Spread

I'll be happy if they get speed on both sides of the ball. And please draft a wr with speed. I think Metchie is gone by end of second round.
Patriots traded up in the 2nd round last year, so maybe they will trade up this year. But in the first round? No, too expensive.
The NFL draft is sickening. Such a bad system where the best talent goes to the worst teams. With the Patriots picking at the end of the round year after year – of course they have a questionable draft record, it's so unfair. What they should do is REVERSE ORDER of the teams on Rounds 2, 4 and 6.

On mock drafts I’ve been trading back with teams until we get to the mid 40’s. Doing this I am routinely drafting 10+ players and overall A ranking each time. Every time I trade up or stay at 21, you get hosed on value.
Lloyd at a 4.66, 40 speed does not thrill me
Double dip corners, double dip WR, double dip OL. Pats drafted 3 LBs last draft and signed Peppers & Wilson no more LBs ….smh
Here is how my view of how the Patriots draft will be:
Round 1
1.a Andrew Booth Jr or Devin Lloyd
1.b Jameson Williams (possible with trade up) or Chris Olave
Round 2
2.a John Metchie III or Best LB available (Leo Chenal, Chad Muma, Christian Harris etc.)
2.b Roger McCreary or Kyler Gordon
Round 3
3.a If no LB previously taken then best remaining (at this point maybe Brian Asamoah, Channing Tindal, Darrian Beavers.)
3.b If they miss out on John Metchie III then the next target should be any of Calvin Austin III, Alec Pierce or Danny Gray.
The remaining rounds 4-7 will be filled with OTs, IOL, CB that they tend to develop rather well.
Stay away from riaman in the first he’s way to new to the positions and isn’t he already 25 yeah nah!!
