No. He’s older and getting a bit injury prone. They’ve seen enough from Harris now to know he’s ready to step up and not just when Tretter is injured again. Didn’t it free up cap space?.. geez

Tretter wasn't here 8 years only 5. As for Hunt he still hasn't been extended his contract is up after this year. He will be a cap casualty next year. So will Ward or Njoku.

Are people always this stupid? They released him because they could save money and drafted his potential replacement 2 years ago. Harris has been practicing with first team for long time and looked good when he played. Its about money and age not politics here.

Probably not smart to release a guy who is president of the Players association when you have a QB getting suspended.

Yes 100%. It’s not politics it’s cap space. Once we cut Juice and Tretter we had exactly enough to sing Watson to this years original cap hit. Before he signed a new deal.

There are a few good C and there will be good ones available in 4th, and probably 6th. Wouldn’t be surprised to see Berry trade up a time or 2 in this draft. I can see going up in the 2nd.

I think the teams play dirty signing players to big contracts without most of it being guaranteed and when it comes time to pay them the big money they get rid of them. Releasing Tretter, Landry and Hooper for that reason is dirty in my book. Look for Hunt and Ward to be the next to go.

    He is fat.

    And not tall enough.

    Baker was short.

So we need a taller player, with integrity.

No. The Browns have been cultivating Tretter’s replacement for a couple of years. They saved a chunk off of the cap by cutting Tretter, and Tretter’s knees are so bad that he doesn’t practice during the week. They knew all season that this was Tretter’s last with the Browns. Quit trippin’.
