You call FREE college, dedicated tutors, room and board, meals, smoothie machines, barber shops, trainers, I could keep going, but you call that free labor ?!?!? 99% of regular college kids would trade with them in a heartbeat. Besides 70% ? 80% of current football athletes probably wouldn’t even attend college if not for their football scholarship . It’s a mess and yeah y’all made y’all’s bed. Probably no going back

The only scary thing is nothing is stopping these players who are extremely productive and are very good to start sitting out or opt out of games to get more money just like the NFL. With the transfer portal too kids could start saying i'm just gonna transfer out if you don't give me the amount that I am asking for.

These Boomers in a comment section make me sick, talking about all this stuff is ruining college football. It first year of existence, it's going to have bumps in the road and it's not going to be well but as time goes on and once everything is established then it can be more profitable for everybody. Free education can't cover anything because half of these kids are still in impoverished communities.

I think the NCAA messed up big time by letting the schools and boosters make up the players salary. They effectively opened up Pandora’s box with this and within 5 years we will see college players making significantly more then NFL players. It’s gonna be hard for players to give up the money especially if it increases, but the NCAA needs to regulate the pay of players before it gets to wild.

Then cap school administrators, ADs, and coaches as well. While we’re at it, give coaches 1 job transfer without penalty and then make them sit out of coaching 1 year if their contract was not completed.

You're crazy if you think Texas talent started going to Alabama and Ohio St out of the goodness of their hearts. These kids were always getting paid, it's just legal now. A&M is the biggest spender right now (spurred on by Texas to SEC news), despite not even having an NIL program of any kind.

I believe there should be some type of cap that the school should be able to give out just like the nfl. That is why there is a salary cap so the top big market teams can’t just pay out. Or people like David tepper the richest owner to make the Panthers a squad again. So say a 20-30 million cap. (Yes that seems like a lot) but if the deals are already hitting the million mark.. it’s just going to keep going up for players and they will be getting a 4 year deal mostly with only really being 2 with a buy out after the 2nd year for ones wanting to declare.

The 50k given to Texas OL is hardly their money. They must put it towards charitable donations. There’s a catch to most NIL deals and nothing is free for these kids. Many players who signed deals wish just find it a headache and want out. Include the details next time. These players are still hardly being paid.
