I feel Jones much like the Giants has not truly found his identity, yet

A little disappointed with the video. You seem like you're trying really hard not to compliment DJ. I know during the off-season you declared DJ basically not good. Now it feels like you need to underplay his performance to justify your earlier assessment. It's not that the examples you gave were wrong or wrongly analyzed, that was fine. It's when you said, "I just didn't think he played THAT great, he looked like a tier 3 quarterback." That's just wrong and unfair. He looked very great for a quarterback who isn't in the Mahomes/Rodgers/Wilson tier of greatness. He looked like a solid tier 2 quarterback. He was the PFF offensive player of the week with an overall 91.3 grade and 90.2 passing grade, all while adding 100 yards rushing with a gorgeous rushing touchdown that got unfairly called back on a BS holding call. You should give him a fairer shake next go around.

I feel like you were trying hard to justify your earlier assessment of Daniel Jones. Even the guys in the broadcast said he played great, which he did. When analyzing players, we must be careful to remove personal bias.

There was a point in the 3rd or 4th quarter where the protection was so good that he was standing in there and firing on all cylinders. He was in total command of the offense. It felt like Daniel finally turned a corner and it just clicked.

There was a very suspect holding penalty on that long TD run.

Give Daniel Jones a competent OC and the script is completely flipped

No the Giants should be running an offense more like the 90's Rams. They do not have the O-line to compete on any real level. They need 4 & 5 WR sets that will force defenses to lighten their pressure at the line or be forced into mismatches in the secondary. They cannot play traditional Giants football and win with this team. That requires great linemen on offense to be good, and on both sides to win Super Bowls.

After their last Super Bowl win the Giants got rid of all their aging offensive linemen rather than pay them the big bucks they thought they would want the next season. They have not focused on the offensive line since. They have not been back to the playoffs since. It is one of the most required pieces to "Giants" football.

a tier 3? seriously? this dude played his ass off …like you really couldn't ask more of him. 95 rushing 248 passing would been 4 tds and no turnovers. your still trying down play his performance. whats tier 1 numbers? just curious

This wasn't a tier 3 performance, definitely tier 1. The Giants need to allow Jones to carry the offense.

He's smart and physically gifted enough to be a really good qb in this league but he lacks general poise and usually locks onto his 1st reads most of the time, he has to be more instinctual and natural with the way manipulates the pocket and scans the field if he wants to get better. He can make all the throws and is accurate but he's got to be calmer and take control of the offense
