I'd trade for future 1st today then take bpa at 14, shore up guard rest of draft. You have pro bowl Caliber player today and Hand isn't forced in the early draft

I learned decades ago that football is simply entertainment. 31 teams fail every year as it's a zero-sum game. Zimmer I believe thinks if he has a great defense then the offense can score a lot of points as they did last year with a horrible defense.

Teams get figured out offensively pretty fast as that is what happened to the Rams and others with shiny young offense gurus.

Hate the thought of this trade. Would almost for sure require a 1st round pick to get him. On top of it, you're then paying a BIG contract. I wouldn't give more than a 2nd rounder for next year's draft. Far better to use that 1st round pick on a solid LT in the draft (one should be available at 14) and have a cost controlled LT for the next 5 years.

Wait until after the draft and if the Ravens still come calling give up 2022 picks. Then in the off-season we can trade the 2022 picks we gave up for him. No cost

I believe that they are going to wait until draft night to pull off a trade of this magnitude. Its much easier to negotiate when you have a time restriction and the other team can no longer play the long game.

Just trade future first and then draft 32nd, and trade OB Jr for pick 15 or so in 2022.

    Arbitrage.

NFL teams are really smart about discounting future picks for other picks but they’re really, really dumb about trading players in season with 2 years + on contract or willing to sign extension for properly valued draft picks (see Jalen Ramsey when Vikings were the only other team interested and they wouldn’t give up 2 1sts knowing he was worth that in the offseason. Easiest no brained trade ever, we could have traded for him, then flipped him to the Rams in the offseason for those 2 1sts back)

Future draft picks are a myth almost as much as the cap.

They let Riley Reiff go to the Bengals, so it looks like the Vikings either a.) are making a Draft Day trade for a LT or b.) they are looking to take a LT in Round 1. I would say Round 2, but the Vikings, as of now, do not have a 2nd Rounder. I suspect the Vikings are going to make a move to get a 2nd Round pick. If they do, the Vikings will take their OL guy in 2nd Round.

I reiterate work one of the comments said below brown was the third round pick it’s nuts to give up the 14th pick, I live in Arizona and have been a Vikings fan since 1987 what is wrong with you guys, plus if you notice the ravens and the Eagles general managers always get over on us damn you guys sound like Spillman

About six years ago we gave up a first round pick for Sam Bradford, to the Eagles Spillman should have been never allowed to be our general manager back in 2012, He generally gives up too much draft capital, too much lucrative salaries, any trades back to much negating quality for quantity

Let's be real here, literally almost everyone restructured or took less…….but Kirk. I say pay the defense and forget Kirk if he gets sacked a bunch, who cares. If this were a normal season, maybe, MAYBE IL let.it slide, but it isn't. The one thing worse than an over rated player, let alone QB, a QB who whines about getting sacked while being top 3 among highest paid qbs. In a salary cap league, being a team player is the most important trait, you can't throw 5000 yards without the team working together, you cant rush for 2000 yards without the team working together, this isn't basketball where a player can take over a game. Get the trash outta here.

Easy, just trade 14 if need be. He’s def better than anybody in the class as of right now. You’re hoping for a lt to pan out to something even close to brown. Why take the chance? Just make the trade n be happy with a piece that’s rarely ever available

Solid analysis, imo. As a Ravens fan, I can tell you that they do not want to part with OB JR. Keep in mind (as much as fans have access to team info), that the Ravens want to guarantee that Ronnie Stanley is back, 100% and will be ready to start Week 1 before they were to trade OB JR. The Ravens might need OB JR to start the season as LT or maybe just back at RT for one last year while the Ravens look to make a Super Bowl run. Then. as was mentioned. the Ravens would just pay him his $1.2 million (or whatever the amount is on the last year of his rookie deal) and take the free 3rd round comp pick the following year. I think a first (#14) and a 5th round pick gets the deal done for Minnesota. Yeah, you'll have to pay him with a massive contract extension but you also get a top 5 OT locking down your QB's blind side for the next decade. I'm also seeing some comments about how 'when the Ravens/ EDC come calling'. Respectfully Vikings fans, EDC has 6-8 teams trying to pry OB JR from the Ravens…yeah, wants to paid like Trent Williams but also one who never misses a game, zero sacks allowed and zero drama. The Vikings are the ones that'll be calling. If a trade were to be worked out, I'd prefer to see him go to an NFC team like the Vikings instead of the Chargers, Dolphins or Colts. Imho, it's a win-win for both Baltimore & Minnesota.

I have no problem giving up 14 for a proven commodity. We gave up a lot for Jared Allen and he had TONS of issues coming out of KC with drinking and attitude problems.

Best use if a first round pick the Vikings ever had.

I wouldn't be heartbroken if there Vikings gave the entire fucking draft for the guy. GET HIM!

As a ravens fan. The ravens aren’t too worried about forcing this trade. There will be no swapping 1sts. The ravens are in win now mode and knowing the ravens, they are willing to keep OBJ for one year and get a 3rd round comp pick to just have a great RT and insurance for Ronnie Stanley. That flexibility will make it hard for the ravens to move on and risk their championship team on a rookie RT. So the bottomline to me is the 14th pick and change and maybe a swap of day 3 picks. Reports from the ravens make it seem that only a irresistible type of deal would make EDC make the move. So to me 14, a day 2 pick, and a day 3 pick for OBJ and a day 3 pick would be what I expect for the ravens to want and look for if they want to move on from Orlando.

    pick 90 (3rd round 2021)

    2022 2nd round
    2022 3rd round
    2022 1st round (best BAL/MIN)

    Vikings would receive:
    Orlando Brown Jr.
    2022 1st round (worst BAL/MIN)

I agree Jerome totally on getting Orlando Brown Jr. what ever it takes. Like you said all the players in the draft are hoping to get as established as Brown. Brown would be such a smart choice. However the Vikings aren’t known for making too many smart choices. On the line. Bradbury could be a bust. When you draft a center and offensive lineman you expect them to pass and run block well. Bradbury was ranked 2 nd to last in NFL in pass blocking and guess who was rated last? Non other than Dakota Dozier. Orlando have already been to 2 pro bowls. He is only 25 in May. He is a no brainer and solid at left tackle for at least 10 yrs. barring no injuries

Swap 27 for 14, give up a 2nd rounder next year and pick 90 for baltimore's 58 and take Dickerson. Otherwise I'd rather us trade back, pick up a 2nd and take Cosmi or Jenkins in first and grab Dickerson, Meinerz, Davis in 2nd and save the huge salary. Brown isn't worth more. That's the equivalent of giving Baltimore a number 39 pick
