If the Vikings don’t make the playoffs in 2021 with the dysfunctional Lions and quarterbackless Bears, Zimmer and Spielman need to be gone.

You just heard Courtney, Weak draft class at the three technique and they need a T, G, and a third WR (Samuel/Higgins) in free agency (because the Spielman scouting team cannot assess offensive line and to some degree defensive line talent, and with the the help of Kubiak SR. got lucky with the Jefferson WR pick last year). Then they need and edge rusher, Nose tackle, a couple of linebackers and a Safety and TE in their first 6 picks of the draft. Now my guess is that Spielman might get one or two guys in free agency and role the dice w/ his so called scouting staff in the Draft to field these other positions. So many holes and not enough cap space and early draft picks to fill those holes with average talent unless they get extremely lucky. Since their track record is making poor decisions, I would not bet on them making the right choices!

A good offensive line is certainly a dream and would give a true measure to Kirk's ability or lack thereof.
However, trading for that tackle from the Ravens scares me if it would really cost a 1st round pick. That is way too much, especially if we have to pay him and Oneal 20 mil each in 2022 (when Kirk's costs will especially kill us).

49ners got All pro Trent Williams by swapping their 3rd for a 5th. If we can get the Ravens guy for a couple of mid round picks, sure lets do it, but we have way too many holes and bad contracts to trade such important pieces.

I think the Vikings really should give Ezra Cleveland a shot at his natural position this year. I'm not concerned about him starting there with limited NFL experience. Serviceable guards are plentiful this year. Even with an inexperienced Left Tackle (with the addition of literally any new guards) our offensive line becomes instantly soooo much better than when we were starting Dozier, Bradburry, and Eflein. Kirk had his best record with that donut of a line, so… give it a shot.

I really don't want us to lose Oneal because of disproportionate amounts of money going to less impactful players (LOOKING AT YOU BARR).

To me, this is one year that great veterans ARE going to go for one year deals because the cap is probably going back up to the natural rise ×2 up to around 221 million. If the speilman/zimmer regime wants to keep their hold, you can find a decent left guard to pair with the trade for Orlando Brown. Hopefully they can put Barr in that trade and maybe we can swap our #1 with theirs and throw in a 3rd and a 4th to compensate it

Vikings screwed up their leverage, by letting Reif go. Now the whole league knows they need a left tackle, Orlando Brown will cost 3 draft picks, and I don't care what they say, he's not proven yet, he protected one of the most mobile quarterbacks in the league, Lamar Jackson improves anybody's OL

I see everyone’s point! I give him a 5 with the middle of the road because he has made some great moves in the past but not recently. Kirk was a panic move locking him up. I do not think he has a long term vision I feel like he’s making band aid moves to save his job. He’s going to throw spaghetti at the wall and sits back and sees what sticks. Zimmer does not focus on the offense and it shows. Look at how long this Offensive line has been terrible. We aren’t even a great running football team but they built a line for the run game only.

I don’t understand why you guys are combining the GM and HC together when y’all talk about the GM doing dumb $hit.. that’s not on the coach..

I think what backs my point is in the last 5 years of the first three rounds of the draft only 3 defensive players have been selected (exception Danzler).

I mean think about it for a second.. do you really think Mike (being an ex defensive coordinator) wants 12/15 picks to be on the offensive side of the ball??

Case and point would be selecting Bradbury over Jeffery Simmons.

I think if we selected Simmons two years ago we make the playoffs last year.. just with that pick alone. not to mention in the same draft we took Irv Smith over DK metcalf..

Just doesn’t seem logical with the players selected in the draft for so many years in a roll to be offensive when you have a defensive minded head coach.

Zero! That's the confidence I have in Rick. He's been here for what seems like forever and hasn't even been able to get a team to the SB. The Wilfs aren't going to eat the next 2 years of both Rick and ZIms contract. So I expect them to be here until after the 2022 season (with Cousins) and if they didn't make the SB, they all are gone. I just hope the Wilfs are smart enough to tell Rick he can't trade any 2023 draft picks. He gets two more years then they reevaluate.

The Vikings should sign 2 guards and move Ezra to left tackle… It'll be cost effective over bringing in Orlando Brown Jr. If the Vikings pursue 2 second tier guards for the o-line.

For me getting a good Guard in Free agency works. The LT class in the draft is HUGE. There are some great guards in the draft as well. I would rather get a stud DT in FA over Offensive line. Draft lineman in this draft. We were #4 in offence and atrocious on Defense. DT is most glaring.

On the oline get Brown then trade down for a late 1st and get Wyatt Davis

    LT- Brown
    LG- Cleveland
    C- Bradbury
    RG- Davis
    RT- O'Neill

Then on the DL trade a mid-low rd pick for Atkins

    RE- rotation
    NT- Pierce
    DT- Atkins
    LE- Hunter

Look at those OL and DL & tell me that's not a big boost on both sides and it shouldn't break the bank too bad especially if we trade Barr

Anyone can be traded, ANYTIME, no matter HOW MUCH MONEY is guaranteed in their contract. This is because the trading team can EAT as much money as it takes to make it palatable to the receiving team. For instance, next year, in the 2022 off-season, we could trade Kirk Cousins to San Fran (or whoever), while agreeing to EAT $20,000,000 of Kirk's Contract on our books, so Kirk would only cost the receiving team $25,000,000. This would allow us to ask for a relatively high pick. I've always wondered why more teams don't do this. Sure, you gotta eat a bunch of dead money, but it makes the player very desirable in trade, and likely allows you to request a higher pick(s). At least this way the trading team gets a decent pick(s) in return, while unloading "SOME" of the players cap hit, and its not a total loss. I thought we might do this with Reiff. I can't believe more teams don't offer to eat a portion of the players contract in order to entice buyers….

I don't trust Spielman to make decisions that properly reflect the current state of the Vikings which is they need to think 2-3 years down the road. Too many bad knee jerk moves/trades over the past two years in a win now mode when they team needed to be in rebuild. Tired of the "fit the scheme" draft process for lineman which has been a miserable failure. If Zimmer/Speilman are unwilling to change philosophy then if I'm ownership, no more Cousins extensions, no more pushing cap hits to screw future years, they need to win in the next two years with the bed they made or it is time to move on to new management and coaching.
