If the worst NFL team played it….it would discourage tanking…and humilaite ego driven caoching staff. Then, they would get a #1 pick and a true rebuild would happen.

Maybe that would shake up the perennial winners and losers that the NFL has, drive up revenue, and be a more entertaining game than the pro bowl.

I think it would be cool to have a college All-Star go against first and second year NFL stats. Kinda like the NBA has the Freshman/Sophomore game All Star weekend.

Imo no matter what NFL team is going up against college, the NFL team is winning. You could put the Jags second string lineup out there and they’d still probably win. Some colleges might have a slight chance, but the reality is that every single person in the NFL is in the NFL because they were the best players in college. Someone who was/is terrible in the NFL us dominating college 9/10. That’s why they’re here in the first place. I don’t think that a College v. NFL game should happen anymore. Players are too far ahead

People are talking like there would be a huge gap these days, I don't think so, it would be close between the best college team an super bowl champs, so one said play the worst NFL team against college champs, again I think college team would win, imagine the hype the players would get, they should do what is done in football(soccer) every team pro and semi and academy in one cup, just a straight knockout, imagine Canadian teams college teams nfl teams plus teams from Europe, there is a romantic notion in an underdog getting one over the giant teams, in soccer we call em giant killers, it happens alot More than you think, nearly every year in the English fa cup a non league team puts out a premier league team .

A bad Nfl team players were drafted because they were considered good in college and had to compete with veteran players and other draftees for that 1 starting position. Over 105 players on a college football team, odds are not even 10 player on that team will be drafted. NFL 53 Drafted players, maybe 1 or 2 undrafted. NCAA, maybe 10 good players and over 100 average players. NFL win.

Today, every NFL season has just a handful of rookies who start from game 1, maybe 10. This game being played by college seniors, who have yet to play their senior season, means a few of those 10 have not yet developed into the player they will become in one more year of college. Thus, perhaps 7 college all stars are pro ready by the August of their senior year. Then, can you correctly identify them, convince them to play, are they motivated to play? That is the simple talent gap.
Then there is scheme. NFL schemes are much more complex. The college all stars won't even be a cohesive team themselves.
A closer match would the defending national champions versus the team that drafted first. That might pit a big name rookie QB versus a cohesive college team. But even then, the talent gap is wide. Yeah, there might have been a time when this game was feasible, but no longer.

NFL scheme today would ensure a blowout every time. The NFL QB steps up to the line, looks at the coverage and shrugs, knowing he can destroy it with ridiculous ease. Meanwhile, the NFL scheme on D will result in a pick or two simply by confusing the college QB.

The only college vs NFL game that might be entertaining would be the college champs versus the NFL team that earned the first pick.

Like the way this series ended, you'd still have to reasonably side with the worst NFL team over the college team. However, the series might lean towards the college champs in games where the NFL coach who earned that terrible record is still coaching their team.

We should bring back the college all-star football playing the NFL football team. I miss the high scores and blowouts by the NFL vs the college team. It teaches the college football players what their in for when they get drafted by the NFL to play for them. Can you imagine a quarterback like Tom Brady or Aaron Rodgers lighting up a national champion college team like Alabama? This is what makes it fun with the scoring blowouts.

The All-stars played the BEST NFL team, not the worst. If the worst NFL team played the D1A national champions, you might not see a win by the college team, but you would see a good game. Even playing the very best in the NFL, the All-stars were competitive. Did you know that 3/4ths of Alabama's starters now get drafted? Not only that, but many pros are only playing because the team can't afford to pay for a better player at that position, this is especially true for notoriously and perennially bad teams. A lot of matchups would be "old and busted" vs "new and shiny", and even though history shows us that experience usually wins out, I go back to the old All-star vs Super Bowl champs game, despite the All-stars losing the games after 1963, very few of the later games were blowouts… and they were playing the Super Bowl champs.

Just to put things into perspective…. the CFL is full of NCAA stars and starters who were unable to make it to the NFL (Johnny Manziel couldn't even make it on two separate CFL teams)… and many NFL fans still feel that CFL is a vastly inferior product.
A NCAA team would get demolished by the NFL nowadays.
